Aboriginal Art.

Pilpi Spirit of the month of March.
Many, many years ago, all the bandicoots lived together in a large infertile valley of the great Australian desert.
The queen of the bandicoots was Pilpi. She was three times bigger than any other bandicoot alive, very strong and very fast. Enemies were few and far between the bandicoot tribe, as the valley had little to offer other animals and the only drinking water avalilable was in the deep holes below the surface, dug up by the bandicoot population.
one day during a severe drought, the dingo tribewere forced to leave there original hunting grounds and came across the bandicoot valley by mistake. Because of Pilpi enormous size, she was the first one to be spotted so the dingos decided to catch her and have her for dinner, however, little did they know thet Pilpi was not only just big but she was fast and strong. She dug deep into the ground as fast as she could and to her surprise, without warning, a great clear water jet gushed from the huge hole, hurling Pilpi into the air. The water flooded into the valley, sweeping the dingos together and drowning most of them. The remaining dingos than fled the valley never to return.
The water Pilpi brought up from the depts of the earth has made the area a flowering paradise.
To this day there has never been another gigant brandicoot like Pilpi seen in the valley. But the great spirit of Pilpi always ensures that the valley receives sufficient moisture from the sky above.

The picture is the artist interpretation of the great PILPI SPIRIT.
